Ford researchers are leading development of a more sustainable future transportation system based on intelligent vehicles that use Wi-Fi and GPS to wirelessly communicate to each other to help reduce crashes and congestion. On June 1, 2011 Ford brought their talking cars to San Francisco to provide a demonstration of this technology. Participants were invited into the vehicles and driven through common crash scenarios to experience the vehicle to vehicle communication in action. Ford is the first automaker to build dedicated intelligent vehicles to educate the public about this important new technology.
